Extracts from Boards of Governors

The Board of Governors was a decision-making body of the League until it was replaced by the General Assembly as of 1979. The series mentioned below is not numbered, for the documents underlying the entries do not always contain that information. The documents used are held by the Secretariat of the International Federation. Most of the documents used contain decisions, with hardly any mention of the discussions and individuals involved, including elections. It must also be noted that in reviewing this collection, the term “nurse” has been interpreted as a proxy for “woman” – which is probably mistaken in a number of cases, but correct for most practical purposes.
